Systems Hardware Engineer

Description:

Innovator of reconfigurable and adaptable signal processing solutions with products that demand real-time, extremely high performance, ultra-low power, computation intensive hardware and software for data acquisition, data algorithm, communications, and digital imaging markets.

Provide design support for hardware projects that target hardware deployment in harsh environments. Job responsibilities will include development of detailed hardware specifications for DSP systems hardware and participation as an active member of the hardware team in the design and implementation of components of systems based on the company's technology.

Required Skills and Expertise:

• PCB design and packaging design for embedded systems
• FPGA design, including the use of common FPGA design tools and IP
• Familiarity with advanced packaging issues
• Familiarity with common interfaces and communication protocols (DDR, PCIe, Serial Busses, USB, Ethernet, etc.)
• Experience with lab equipment and testing procedures for PCBs and embedded systems
• Strong verbal and written communication and customer interface skills

Experience and Education:

• BSEE or equivalent
• 5+ years experience with hardware design for high reliability and/or high availability
• 5+ years experience with FPGA-based design
• 5+ years experience electro-mechanical design
• Mentor Expedition and DxDesigner experience a plus
• Experience in custom enclosure development a plus
• Experience with thermal management techniques and solutions a plus
